Recycling electronics is one important thing, every responsible electronic equipment owner should do.
Electronics recycling facilities abound and website CNET.com shared various ways on how to recycle old and used electronics. “Fortunately, there are plenty of options available if you want to recycle your old gadgets rather than leaving them to languish as an expensive paperweight — or even worse, as landfill. If your device is still functional and has personal data stored on it, make sure to wipe it properly. Then, you can decide whether to try and sell it, or recycle it in the right way.”

No more excuses not to recycle
The New York Times said, device owners are now running out of excuses not to recycle their device. “Recycling electronics is becoming easier by the day. Stores like Best Buy and Staples now offer programs to take back old gadgets and recycle them. Churches and schools commonly hold e-waste collection drives, and you can even occasionally find bins for dropping off old tech on the street.”

Website Tree Hugger.Com meantime highlighted the effects of just tossing away outdated electronic devices and not recycling them.
“One of the biggest downsides of electronics is that their components are toxic to the environment, and to us, if they’re just thrown away and left to leach into the earth. The ideal situation would be that all of us use, repair and repurpose our electronics until we no longer can and then at that point, we recycle them responsibly. Unfortunately, the statistics show that we don’t come close to that ideal.”
